Where your wallet is, how to put money in it, and how to read your balance.

Once you are signed in, the orange Connect button at the top right is replaced by a small wallet icon with an amount next to it. That amount is your balance, and it is on every page.

Click it. A panel slides in from the right — this is your wallet. From top to bottom it shows:

  • Your address — shortened, with your total balance in dollars underneath it.
  • Deposit — put money in. This is the one you will use.
  • Withdraw — send money out to another address. You do not need it to buy a book.
  • Tokens — what you are holding, coin by coin.
  • Authors & Publishers — coming soon.

Close the panel with the cross at its top right, or by clicking anywhere outside it.

Nothing, and that is the point. The wallet was made for you the moment you signed in. There is nothing to install, no extension, no recovery phrase to write down. Your email is how you get back in.

It starts empty, so the amount at the top right reads $0.00. That is normal and it is not a problem yet:

  • Free: browsing, searching, following publishers, applying to become a publisher, filling in your book details.
  • Needs money in the wallet: buying a copy of a book, and the registration fee when you publish one.

So you can look around first and come back to this page when you actually need to pay for something.

One thing to know before you put money in: payments here are made in a stablecoin — a digital coin that is worth one dollar, and stays worth one dollar. You are not typing in a card number. The checkout screen tells you which coin and which network the price is in; that is the coin you need to have.

Good to know:If you already have a crypto wallet of your own, you can sign in with it instead and skip all of this — its balance is the one you will be spending.

Click the wallet at the top right, then Deposit. You will see a QR code and, under it, your address and a Copy wallet address button.

That address is where money arrives. Now send some to it, in whichever of these two ways suits you:

  1. From an exchange— where people usually buy their first coins. Buy the coin the checkout screen asked for, then go to the exchange's withdraw or send screen, paste your address into it, and choose the same network the price is quoted on. Confirm the withdrawal.
  2. From a wallet you already own— send to the same address, or open your phone wallet's send screen and scan the QR code on this page instead of typing anything.

The transfer is confirmed by the network, not by us, so it takes anywhere from a few seconds to a couple of minutes. Close the panel and open it again to refresh; when the money has landed, the amount at the top right goes up.

Important:Two things worth a minute of care. First, the network matters: your address can receive almost any coin on almost any network, but only the coin and network shown at checkout can pay for a book. Second, a transfer cannot be reversed — not by us, not by the exchange. The first time you send to this address, send a small amount, check that it arrives, and only then send the rest.

The large figure at the top of the panel is everything you are holding, in dollars, added up across every network. The amount on the button at the top right is the same number, so you can check it without opening anything.

Under Tokens the same money is listed coin by coin. Click a row to open it and see where each part of it actually sits — the same coin can be spread over more than one network, and that is what this view is for.
