Become a publisher
One application, about ten minutes, and Studio opens up.
10 steps
The form itself takes about ten minutes — but only if everything is already in front of you. Almost all the delay publishers run into is hunting for a document halfway through.
Print this list, or send it to whoever keeps your company records.
From your company records
- Imprint name — the name readers will see
- Registered legal company name
- Publisher certificate number
- Tax office and tax number
- Registered company address
- Your website domain, written plainly: example.com
About the person signing
- Their first and last name — ideally the owner
- A phone number
- An email address on your own domain, such as [email protected]. A Gmail or Hotmail address will not be accepted.
Two documents, as PDF files, up to 50 MB each
- Signature circular — every page, scanned and readable
- Trade registry gazette
Two images
- Your logo — square, at least 512 × 512 pixels
- A banner for the top of your page — at least 1500 pixels wide
- Sign in to your account.
- Click Apply in the left menu.
- A checklist appears first, headed Before you start. Read it. If you want to send the list to a colleague, click Copy list and paste it into an email.
- Click I'm ready — start.
The form has six numbered steps across the top. You move forward with Next and back with Back. You can also click a step number at the top to jump straight to it.
Your company details, copied from your registration papers. Everything on this step is required except Website.
- Publisher Name — your imprint, the name readers see on your books.
- Company Name — your registered legal name, word for word as it appears on your papers. These two are often different, and that is fine.
- Publisher Certificate No, Tax Office, Tax No, Address — exactly as registered.
- Country — choose from the list. This also fills in your telephone country code on the next step.
- Domain — the domain on its own. Write example.com. Do not write https://example.com or www.example.com/about. If you paste the long version we trim it for you.
Both documents are required. Both must be PDF and under 50 MB each.
- Signature circular — click the box and choose your file. You can add several files here if your circular is spread across more than one document. Include every page.
- Trade registry gazette — one PDF.
Each file you add is listed by name underneath. If you picked the wrong one, remove it and choose again.
- Logo — required. Square, at least 512 × 512 pixels. Once you choose the file you can drag it and zoom it until it sits well in the frame.
- Profile Cover — required. The wide banner across the top of your page, at least 1500 pixels wide. A book-spine photo or a plain brand colour both work.
- Social media — optional. Click + Add link, choose the platform, paste the address of your page. Repeat for each one.
About is required, and up to 1000 characters. It appears publicly on your page, so write it for readers rather than for us: what you publish, who you are, how long you have been doing it. A counter under the box shows how much room is left.
Then open the agreements with the View terms link, read them, and tick I accept the agreements. The form will not let you continue until that box is ticked.
The last step lays out everything you entered on one page. Read it through once. To change something, click its step number at the top and come back.
When it is right, click Submit Application. Your files upload one after another — you will see Uploading images…, then Uploading documents…, then Submitting application… — and a confirmation appears at the end.
If something is still missing, an amber bar names the exact fields: "To continue, please add: …". Nothing is sent until those are filled in.
Your application goes to our team. While it is with them, the Apply page shows an Application Pending card listing everything you sent and the date you sent it. There is nothing else for you to do, and nothing you can do to speed it up.
How you will know you are approved: the Apply item in the left menu is replaced by Studio. A Team tab also appears in your settings. You do not need to wait for an email to start work.
Next: Publish your first book.
This is not the end of the road, and it is usually something small. Open the Apply page: the reason our team gave is written there.
The three we see most often are:
- A scanned document that is unreadable or missing pages
- An email address that is not on the company domain
- A company name that does not match the registration papers
Click Apply Again. Everything you entered before comes back already filled in. Correct the one thing that was wrong and submit again.
